/outline — Photo to STL
Turn a photo into a 3D print, right in your browser. Trace a cutting outline (SVG / DXF / extruded STL), emboss it as a relief plaque, generate a backlit lithophane, or let an on-device AI depth model pop the whole scene into 3D — with a live 3D preview. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Drop, paste or choose a photo (phone camera works too). Straighten and crop it if needed.
- Pick a mode: outline traces a silhouette for laser/CNC or a flat extrusion; relief turns brightness into an embossed plaque; lithophane makes a backlit print (thin = bright); AI depth estimates real 3D depth from the photo, on your device.
- In outline mode, tune the threshold until the pink line hugs the shape and set the real-world scale. In the 3D modes, watch the live preview while you drag the sliders.
- Export: SVG / DXF / STL / PNG from outline mode, or a watertight binary STL from the 3D modes — ready to slice.

Printed width. The height keeps the photo aspect ratio.
Mesh resolution across the width — higher is finer (and a bigger STL).
Blurs sensor noise and JPEG blocking so the surface prints clean.
Mid-tone curve — below 1 lifts shadows, above 1 deepens them.
Shifts the whole tonal range up or down.
Spreads or squeezes the tones around mid-gray.
